🌍 YOUTH THEATRE KENYA PRESENTS: THE IRON SNAKE“A people who know where they’ve come from can choose where to go next.”
Journey back to the turn of the 20th century — to a time when the great Iron Snake (Kenya- Uganda Railway) was cutting its way across East Africa, changing everything in its path.
At the centre of our story are two Maasai brothers, Lenana and Sendeyo — divided by vision, duty, and prophecy — and the colonial powers that sought to reshape their land. As friendships are formed and betrayals unfold, a group of young people from different communities are forced to ask: what do we carry forward, and what must we leave behind?
Blending original music, powerful ritual, movement, and history, The Iron Snake is an epic youth-led musical drama exploring the complexities of identity, leadership, land, resistance, unity — and the choices that shape a nation.
